Making croutons is an easy way to use up stale bread, they are tasty, crunchy and so good in soups and salads.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Slice up some stale bread into chunky cubes and drizzle with garlic infused olive oil (or extra virgin olive oil). Sprinkle on some seasoning. I used a mixed garlic and herb spice but salt and pepper is just as good. Mix it all together to spread the oil and spice evenly on the bread cubes.
Spread the cubes evenly on a baking tray and put in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes so that they’re nice and crunchy.
Once cooled, they can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
